Jonathan Smidt
Jonathan is a former partner in KKR’s private equity practice, where he spent 18 years. Jonathan was head of KKR’s Industrials investment team and a member of the Investment Committee within KKR’s Private Equity platform in Europe. Prior to his role in Europe, Jonathan was based in New York where he was a partner in KKR’s Private Equity practice in North America. His experience spans the US and Europe across the industrial, consumer and energy sectors amongst others. He has been involved in transactions ranging from $100 million to $48 billion including corporate carve-outs, build-ups, IPOs, public-to-privates, LBOs and growth investments.
Jonathan lives in New York with his two sons. He sits on the boards of ID\Verse (f.k.a. OCR Labs) and Assisted Reproduction Alliance. He is a member of the Council of Foreign Relations, is a member of the board of directors of Team Rubicon and served on the board of advisors of Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health from 2015 to 2023 and is now a senior advisor the board at Mailman.
